Today is my dad’s birthday…

…and that would call for celebrations, was he still alive. However he is not. He checked out in 1980 and he was born 1903, just when Orville and Wilbur got their first planewings into the air, so he experienced quite a trip with respect to the technological development. But he also had the doubtful pleasure to live through two worldwars, even if the second one “produced” my mother, who was liberated from a German concentration camp by the Swede Folke Bernadotte.
I grew up in Säter, a small town in the inland of Sweden. One day in the late 70-ties, the local photographer invited me and my father for a free studio session. This is one of the pictures from that occasion…

Well, in the flesh or not, I think that my dad today is in title to  a CONGRATS!!  (If you click the picture, you can see images from Säter on the site of photographer Göran Bength)
